Glenn Bernard LeRoy, 76, Luxemburg, died of complications from pneumonia and the COVID-19 virus on Tuesday evening, April 6, 2021 at Bellin Memorial Hospital, Green Bay.
He was born September 10, 1944 in Brussels to the late Bernard A. and Loretta E. (Zellner) LeRoy.
Glenn graduated from Luxemburg High School, class of 1962. He started his first jobs at Kewaunee Engineering and Luxemburg Motor Company. Working with “Porky” at Luxemburg Motor Company, led him to Madison for Short Course Engineering.
He later enlisted in the U.S. Army and was a crane operator, stationed in Alaska.
Due to family complications on his parent’s dairy farm, he came home early on a hardship discharge and finished his service contract through the U.S. Army Reserves.
Glenn married Bonita M. Reince on July 16, 1966, in Duvall, and together they took over the family farm on March 1, 1969.
They raised their five children while building their family farm into what it is now, his pride and joy.
Glenn was a strong family man who taught his children the value of money by showing them how to work for everything they wanted. He was very dedicated to his farm and spent almost every moment with his wife by his side, tending to his cows, working the fields, and maintaining the land and buildings. After 52 years of farming with Land O Lakes, they sold their cows on February 28, 2021, which allowed him to spend all his free time enjoying his great grandchildren.
Glenn is survived by his wife Bonita “Bonnie”; his children, Jeffrey (Tina) LeRoy, Allen (Karen) LeRoy, Barbara (fiancé Brian Boulanger) Gaedtke, Vicky (fiancé Nick Slaght) LeRoy; his brothers and sisters, Gloriann (Ray) Ciha, Gary (Julie) LeRoy, Linda (Dan) Phillips, and Bernard J. (Sue) LeRoy; his brothers in law and sisters-in-law, Jerome (Rebecca) Reince, Rebecca (Myron) Massart, and Neal (Lori) Reince; as well as his 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, with one due in September of 2021.
Glenn is further survived by his Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Godchildren.
Glenn is preceded in death by his son, John (Jack) LeRoy; his parents, Bernard and Loretta LeRoy; one sister, Diane (Tom) Jeanquart; Bonnie’s parents, Earl and Jane Reince; Infant brother-in-law, Joseph Reince; his nephew, Jerry Ciha; his niece, Lisa Brandt; along with some of his Aunts and Uncles.
Family and friends may call 3:00 to 6:00pm on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg.
Closing parish prayer service at 6:00 pm on Sunday with Deacon Bob Miller.
Visitation will continue Monday, April 26, 2021 at 9:30-10:45 am.
Funeral at 11:00 am Monday at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg with Rev. Daniel Schuster officiating.
Full military rites will follow the funeral Mass, provided by the American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262 in Luxemburg.
Entombment at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum, Green Bay.
