Delores M. LaLuzerne

Delores M. LaLuzerne, 65, Algoma, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 after a short illness at the Jack and Engrid Meng Hospice Residence in DePere.  She was born Nov. 6, 1955 in Two Rivers to Bernard and Dorothy (Ewen) Dworak. 

  

Delores got her associates degree as an LPN and worked at the Kewaunee Hosptial, the Algoma Hospital and then at the Algoma Long Term Care for a total of 40 years.       

  

She recently retired two years ago.      

  

Delores was a caregiver her whole life.

 

Delores married Randy LaLuzerne January 3, 1976.

 

She enjoyed her precious time with her family, especially the grandchildren and gardening.

 

Delores is survived by her husband Randy, two daughters Dawn (Michael) Brandt,

Suamico; Kristen (Travis) DePrey, Marquette, MI; and son Curtis LaLuzerne, Suamico; four grandchildren Ethan and Ashlyn Brandt and Liam and Aiden DePrey; her siblings Peggy (David Sr) Funk, Jim (Jeanne) Dworak, Robert (Pam) Dworak, Marilyn (Mike) Schlies, Cathy (Paul) Buresh, Jackie (Kevin) Ronsman and Mary Beth Micke; mother-in-law Lorraine LaLuzerne, in-laws Lee (Linda) Dachelet, Brian (Becky) LaLuzerne, Debbie Ullman and Kevin (Allison) LaLuzerne. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Dorothy, step father Frankie Pekarek, brother-in-law John Micke and father-in-law Erwin LaLuzerne.

 

There will be a public viewing, Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, and after 9:30 AM, Friday April 16th at St. Mary Catholic Church until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM with Rev. Alvan Amadi officiating.  Burial in the church cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Unity Hospice Staff, the Bellin Cancer Team and the Mesothelioma Team at the University of Chicago.

 

We also want to thank our dad "the nurse in the cowboy boots" for taking such good care of mom and allowing her to be in the comfort of her home until her last day.
