Michelle A. Ryan (nee: Schilz) 62, passed away surrounded by the love of her life on May 9, 2021, in Green Bay after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
"Shellie" is survived by her parents Dallas (Marilyn) Schilz, Cecil, WI; her loving husband of 27 years, Scott Ryan, Green Bay; son Daniel (Nicole) Janke, Union Grove, WI; daughter Megan (Ryan) Heiges, New Franken; stepsons Michael Ryan, South Milwaukee, Christopher (Brandi) Ryan, Menomonee Falls and Scott Ryan (Amanda Tomsovic), Franklin; sister Dawn Jensrud (Duffy), Cecil; brother Dan (Laura) Schilz, Oak Creek; step-sister Kelly (Glen) Smith, Oak Creek; grandchildren Ethan and Emmie Janke, Adalynn Heiges, nieces and nephews Amy, Hannah and Jacob Jensrud; Indy and Mckenzie Schilz and Taylor and Jamie Smith. She is further survived by special mother-in-law Char Ryan, Franklin; other aunts, uncles, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many dear friends.
"Shellie" was born February 5, 1959 in Milwaukee. She graduated from Cudahy H.S. in 1977. In 1987 she began working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Milwaukee. Then in 1999 she transferred to the Green Bay office of the FBI, where she worked until her retirement in 2017.
After high school she married Ken Janke of Cudahy and in 1981 gave birth to a son, Daniel Janke. Daniel became the center of her world.
It was then while working at the FBI in 1993 that she met the love of her life, Scott Ryan and his sons Michael, Christopher and Scott. On August 12, 1994 they were married in Milwaukee and in 1995 had a daughter Megan together. Together they worked to blend a wonderful and loving family.
After moving to Algoma, in 1999, Shellie was deeply involved in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and school in Algoma, where she was a member of the Women of St. Paul's, Altar Society, Ladies Quilting Group, volunteered in the school lunch program, and was an avid participant in St. Paul's Bible Study. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and and friends, baking, quilting, knitting, gardening, and quiet walks with Scott and her dogs Chloe, Gracie and Sadie.
Shellie especially looked forward to spending time with her family and friends. One of her favorites was their annual "Weekend with the girls" in Door County with former co-workers and friends Maureen, Kelly, Kerry and Cindy.
Shellie was very strong in her faith. She was a role model to her family. She courageously battled cancer since being diagnosed in February 2021. She fought hard, didn't complain and always trusted in God's plan for her life. She was such a blessing to anyone who knew her, and will be missed so much by her family and friends.
A Memorial gathering will take place Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 12:00 PM at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 406 4th Street, Algoma, WI with Rev Joel McKenney and Rev. John Moll officiating. Following services there will be a lunch in the church basement to gather and celebrate Shellie's life.
The family would like to thank Amy Maricque RN, staff of Green Bay Oncology and Unity Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion shown to Shellie and her family.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Paul's Ladies Aid Society or R & R Sanctuary, Inc. (a pet rescue), at PO Box 283, Oxford, WI 53952.
