There is no assault weapons owned by the Citizens today. It's a talking point by many party members who know nothing of what an assault weapon is. A car, kitchen knife, fist can all be classified as assault weapons. The human brain is the weapon, not the object.

Assault weapons should be outlawed. They should only be used by military and police.

The rifles that the libs are proposing to ban are not assault weapons- they are semiautomatic and not full automatic. Besides, nothing that the libs are proposing will reduce gun violence. The weapons are not the problem. The shooters are the problem a

The only ones being affected are law abiding citizens who will become felons once this nonsense is enacted.

Your question is not written well. I checked yes although my views on assault weapons have not changed. There is absolutely no reason for anyone outside of the military or the police to own one. I am not anti-gun at all but assault weapons are not hunting weapons and are not for personal protection.

Regulating legal purchases by law abiding residents does not need to be legislated.
Legislating guns out of the possession and use by criminals and illegal aliens is absolutely necessary.
The question is how to accomplish that. You can easily legislate the purchase and possession of guns by non US citizens.
It is not so easy to do for criminals. They don't follow the laws in the first place, why would they follow gun ownership laws ?
The only thing you can really do is make the possession and use penalties so onerous, that they take notice to the point where they decide not to use that type of weapon. A twenty or thirty year mandatory sentence for possession and use of a gun would, I believe, be noticed and cause those persons to take notice.

No, because I have always thought they don't need to be in the hands of private citizens.

There been 131 gun deaths in Chicago so far this year. Zero coverage. It’s only when white people die in Colorado that Democrat voters want change. Selective outrage at it finest.

Underlying problem is breakdown of family and the emotional problems.
