Whether they are performing gymnastics routines on the balance beam or just hanging out with their peers, the Door County YMCA has found many ways to bring youth from across the peninsula together.

In this week’s episode of the Y-Wednesday Podcast, Strivers gymnastics head coach Nikki Pollman talked about the growth she has seen in the program during her 30 years in the role. This summer, the Strivers scored 110.025 points to earn a spot on the national podium and claim the second-place team banner.

Fine Arts Director Rebecca Brown discussed the programming the Door County YMCA provides to bring area homeschool families together while giving parents a respite from teaching. Activities such as art and gym give students a chance not only to have a different experience outside their homeschool environment, but also to interact with other kids their age.
