A 2-year-old Casco child is in stable condition at a Green Bay hospital after being rescued Monday afternoon.

The Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department responded to a residence in the Town of Casco at approximately 3:50 p.m. after receiving a call about the child falling into a nearby pond.

The caller told the dispatcher the child had been pulled from the water and that CPR was being administered. The caller did not know how long the child had been in the water, but the child began breathing again while the caller was on the phone with the dispatcher.

The Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Luxemburg Rescue and Casco/Lincoln EMRs responded to the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
