Y-Wednesday: YMCA offers flexible fitness options, support for cancer survivors

There are still plenty of ways to stay active at the Door County YMCA, even if the fall session is already underway.

During this week's Y-Wednesday Podcast, Door County YMCA Specialty Wellness Director Abby Baker stopped by to discuss the start of the fall session and the options available for those looking to join a class.

Baker says members can still register for classes that have openings or take advantage of drop-in opportunities to see if a particular class is a good fit before making a commitment.

She also highlighted the YMCA's LIVESTRONG program, a 12-week, small-group exercise and movement program designed for adult cancer survivors.

Baker says getting back into a fitness routine after cancer treatment can be challenging, but the LIVESTRONG program focuses on meeting participants where they are in their fitness journey and helping them improve their strength, confidence, and overall well-being.
