Fish Creek motorcyclist hospitalized, cited in Ephraim crash

A 24-year-old Fish Creek man received five citations and was taken to the hospital following a motorcycle crash in Ephraim on Thursday.

 

The crash occurred at about 8:20 p.m. on State Highway 42 near Crystal Springs Road. According to the accident report, the man was approaching a left-hand curve on Highway 42 when he lost control of his motorcycle, entered a ditch, and struck a fence post.

 

The man suffered minor injuries and was taken to Door County Medical Center for treatment while his motorcycle was towed from the scene. He later admitted to drinking and was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

 

In addition to the OWI citation, the man received citations for operating a vehicle without a valid license, operating a motorcycle without a valid license, failure to keep a vehicle under control, and operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration.

 

The crash closed one lane of Highway 42 for nearly an hour before it reopened shortly before 9:15 p.m.
