Steven E. Nelson

Steven E. Nelson, 72 years, of Sturgeon Bay, was called home to heaven on Friday, October 2, 2026 while at home with his family. Steven had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's nearly 4 years ago and was being cared for by his family and Unity Hospice. He was born July 28, 1954 in Sturgeon Bay the son of the late Edwin and Marilyn (Johnson) Nelson. Steven graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1972 before attending Bethel College receiving his undergrad in history in 1976. He furthered his education receiving his Masters in Biblical Studies from Multnomah School of the Bible. On September 8, 1984 he married Lori M. Crouch in Sturgeon Bay. Steve worked for Palmer Johnson, 25 years, before his time at Therma-tron-x (TTX) where he was employed until his retirement in 2021 after 15 years. Steven was a quiet man with a dry sense of humor who loved his Lord and his church family. He enjoyed woodworking, being with his grandchildren, and walking beachs looking for beach glass. Steven will be missed by his wife, Lori; three children, Janna Nelson, Anders (Victoria) Nelson, and Hans Nelson; grandchildren, Niles, Lily, Minerva, Cambria, Jameson, Edna, Griffin, and Tess; sister, Sharon Rogness; niece and nephews, Rachel (Brian) Camleck, Bjorn (David Brylla) Rogness, and Olaf (Tina) Rogness; his in-laws; cousins; and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Marilyn Nelson; and nephew, Joshua Rogness. Funeral services are pending at this time and will be announced when finalized. Memorials may be given in Steven's honor to the Alzheimer's Association (MAILING ADDRESS: Wisconsin Chapter - Bellevue office, 2563 Development Drive, Green Bay, WI 54311).
