The visually striking vessel, BBC Phillippines, arrived at the mouth of Sturgeon Bay Monday afternoon, and then anchored for a while before docking at Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding (FBS).
The 482 foot heavy lift vessel traveled from Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada to deliver a load of Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) tanks to FBS for use on future projects.
There are seven ships in the BBC 12K-500B series fleet, each capable of carrying 12,400 megatons (mt) of cargo, with two deck cranes capable of moving 250 mt. The BBC Philippines was built in 2023.
